Kareen is an acronym for Knowledge REpository for ENgineering. It consists in a set of data organised in order to be easily retrieved and used in industrial design projects.

This version is called "light" as it doesn't contain all the data available in the full base. All this work has been started in 2002-2003 as an illustration on what are knowledge repositories. The first base was made with Treepad and called K-Quarium. Treepad is a very easy to use software. Unfortunately, the HTML exportation gives poor results. So, Kareen is the newest release made with Web Idea Tree. Results are much more clean even if the software suffers some lacks in ergonomics and ease of use.

THIS BASE IS SUPPLIED "AS IS" AND ALL USE IS AT YOUR OWN RISK

This version has been uploded in emergency, two hours before a professional travel to Ireland.

And it ought to be remembered that there is nothing more difficult to take in hand, more perilous to conduct, or more uncertain in its success, than to take the lead in the introduction of a new order of things. Because the innovator has for enemies all those who have done well under the old conditions, and lukewarm defenders in those who may do well under the new. This coolness arises partly from fear of the opponents, who have the laws on their side, and partly from the incredulity of men, who do not readily believe in new things until they have had a long experience of them.
